History

SuccessAbility’s roots go back to the early 1990s at Stanford University. A group at the Center for the Study of Language and Information innovated voice recognition products and formed fledgling company Audion. In 1994, a new company called Voice Solutions spun out of Audion, and John Klabius took the reins and moved the headquarters to southern California. Over the next twenty years, it grew into a successful adaptive technology company. Their expertise expanded to include solutions for vision and learning disabilities, and they worked especially closely with the Department of Rehabilitation.

In 2016, John released Voice Solutions to new management and it continues to thrive today. In the meantime, there was a clear need for timely and unbiased assessments, and John established SuccessAbility that same year. The company is now well-regarded for their prompt assessments and detailed reports.

Vision

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to assistive technology. With a background ranging from technology to consumer products and solution implementation, John takes a holistic view of the consumer and his/her context.

We at SuccessAbility remain committed to innovation. We research the newest technologies and attend industry events to stay on top of the latest accessibility products and services. With a growing team, we plan to open up more offices and increase coverage. Services have also been extended, and many clients request follow-up services: installation, set-up, testing and training. Our goal is to identify the most appropriate technology that will ensure the best chance of academic or professional success.

John Klabius

Principal

John delivers 22 years of hands-on experience working with and recommending assistive technology and ergonomic products. As the previous owner of Voice Solutions, John had first-hand experience in the field performing assessments, selling AT products and services including set-up, training and support.

In 2015, he sold Voice Solutions and started SuccessAbility to focus his experience on the service side, and now specializes in performing onsite assistive technology and ergonomic assessments.

With no affiliation with any manufacturers or vendors, SuccessAbility is free to perform unbiased assessments and recommend the best products and services for customers. Today, John continues to work closely with customers and leads his team in the pursuit of exceptional customer service.

Gardenia Rosales

Administrative Assistant

Gardenia graduated from the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. After completing her education, she provided administrative support for property management firms within the Los Angeles area. She has volunteered with various organizations for people with disabilities, helping to bring many projects to completion.

Gardenia brings dedication and technical expertise to the team and looks forward to helping SuccessAbility’s clients achieve their educational and career objectives. Direct any administrative issues her way and she will be happy to help you.
